Throughout the two-day event, teams from throughout California and out-of-state, in multiple divisions, will race each other in 500 meter, or one-third mile, distances across Marine Stadium, a waterway built for the rowing competition at the 1932 Olympics. It’s considered a premiere location for paddling and part of the largest dragon boat competition in California.
Celebrate the 25th Annual Summer Dragon Boat Festival, June 21-24 at Mooney’s Bay Park, for four days of racin’, Dragon Boat riding, gift buying, snack-eating, rockin’ n’ rollin’ summer time fun! Admission to the festival is free and, with something for everyone, will be the perfect way to start your summer off right.
This is the first race that kicks off the competitive dragon boat season for most local teams. Held at various venues in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern, California, CDBA teams come out for a day to test their off season training on the local competition.
