I am looking forward to a great adventure in the Peruvian Amazon.  This experience is something I never would have dreamt of until Ross asked me if I'd like to come along.  I had no hesitation in saying "Yes!", especially when I found out who the other folks were going along for this wicked, crazy ride.  I'm sure we'll have some exciting stories to tell when we return home.  I'll let you know if guinea pig is as good as they say.

I'd like you to meet Fuat Koro (yes that is a piranha in his hand).  Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Fuat and I (Joe) have been friends since we met in college 12 years ago.  Fuat is currently an engineer in Boston, MA.  He is an avid adventure traveler and recent triathlete.  While Fuat doesn't have much paddling experience, he was on the University of Rochester Crew Team.

I've been in San Francisco for one year and have been paddling with the Dragon Warriors since I moved here.  Much to the consternation of Ross, I also rowed crew at the University of Rochester. While I used to compete in triathlons, lately my athletic endeavors have been reduced to paddling and local foot races. My job takes me around the world on a yearly basis, but this will be my first trip to Peru.  We're both really excited that you've invited us to join this adventure and in return, promise to kick ass for the Green team!

Oh boy! I started on the Dragon Healer's dragon boat team as a result of joining the group for the Amazon race.  As a result, I'm going to have a thrilling ride down the Amazon and I've joined a great group of dragon boat paddlers.  My friends and family think we're a bit crazy for going on this little adventure, but I can't wait to experience the culture and scenery of the Amazon.  Plus I'll get to do all of this with a great group of fellow paddlers.
